Ensor (1860 &#8211; 1949)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pretty engraving typical of the drawing of James Ensor, representing a fisherman, frequent theme among the artist attached to his country and its culture.<\/p>\n<p>Signed &#8220;Ensor&#8221; in the plate, with the name &#8220;Ostend&#8221; also engraved.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of this engraving is notably kept at Mu.ZEE in Ostend.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second state dating from 1909 &#8211; 1910, published in &#8220;Kunst van Heden&#8221; on Verg\u00e9 d&#8217;Arches paper, and included in the catalogue raisonn\u00e9 of Albert Taevernier under reference 118. Engraving work with a dry, etching point. There are marks of insolation and foxing around the perimeter of the work.<\/p>\n<p>Dimensions: 13.4 x 9.5 cm.
