Weight: 950g.<br \/>\nOur example has two pinholes at the neck and at the top of one leg.<br \/>\nMarcel Joseph Henri Guillemard ( Paris 02\/09\/1886 &#8211; Avon 19\/12\/1932)<br \/>\nA French artist, decorator and sculptor, Guillemard established himself as the first emblematic designer and builder of the Primavera workshop at Printemps department stores. He advocated individual comfort as a luxury that should be present in all homes.<br \/>\nAt the age of 15, he entered the Germain Pilon School of Applied Arts. This training opened the doors to the workshop-offices of the major Parisian firms. Trained in drawing and interior architecture, Marcel Guillemard took part in furniture projects for palaces, grand hotels and ocean liners.<br \/>\nOn October 30, 1917, he was approached by the director of the Primavera workshop at the Printemps department store, with a view to taking up one of the first design positions.<br \/>\nMarcel Guillemard&#8217;s career was launched, and he continued to present new creations at the major annual Salons, extending his responsibilities in the name of the Primavera workshop&#8217;s principles. The official consecration of his career came in 1925, when, at the Exposition Internationale des Arts D\u00e9coratifs et Industriels Modernes, he was awarded the Grand Prix diploma: class 7 &#8211; furniture ensemble.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Silver-plated bronze sculpture of a marabout.
