The format of the chassis is 100 x 73 cm. It is presented in an American frame with gold leaf that enhances it and increases its dimensions by 5 cm (105 x 78 cm).<\/p>\n
Condition: very good condition. The gilding of the frame is damaged in places, on the sides perpendicular to the paintings.<\/p>\n

Painter, cartoonist and author of monumental works.<\/p>\n
Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai, with V. No\u00ebl and E. Salkin (1944-1949), and at La Cambre (E.N.S.A.V.) in Brussels in the studio of P. Delvaux (1950-1953), which he succeeded in 1976. Young Belgian Painting Prize (1953). Mention at the international competition of the Carnegie Foundation, Pittsburgh (1955). Hainaut Prize (1956). Founding member of Hainaut 5 (1964).<\/p>\n
His early works were inspired by construction sites and abandoned machines. Pursuing his path in the movement of abstraction from the fifties and sixties, Dudant then opens up to a certain lyricism, in landscapes rich with atmospheric nuances and visual or auditory sensations, transcended by a musical rhythm. From 1965 to 1980 appear the “fantastic landscapes” (O. Demol) where an unreal climate bathes a proliferation of straight lines generating a space, pure mental construction born from the intersection of planes and luminous incidences. His “interest in a world in power probably unconsciously materialized the dream of the future” (R. Dudant); he materialized it in a 9-meter long mosaic for the Brussels metro station Parc (1973).<\/p>\n
Around 1980, the constructions took on a more aerial perspective, with muted tones again: gray, beige, green, blue, with a bit of ochre or rust. Marais, poplars from the great plain of his childhood reappear in the work of this artist who has reconciled notions of figuration and abstraction, “merging one into the other” (D. Gillemon), thanks to a constant creative emotion.<\/p>\n
