"Napoléon ", spirit bottle, Robj, Paris

This bottle is part of a humorous series imagined by Robj, in the years 1925 – 1930. It is signed Robj, Paris, made in France below. The bicorne is the cap of the bottle.

Dimensions: 25, 5 cm x 8 cm at the base.

Condition: small lack, not very visible on the hat.

Robj

In 1908, Jean Born became interested in electric igniters, created his company and registered his models in 1910. In 1916, he integrated artistic porcelain objects. His name was changed to ROBJ. In 1922, he was replaced by Lucien Willmetz, who created the ROBJ style. The characteristics of ROBJ objects perfectly match the trends and success is immediate: humorous and utilitarian trinkets in porcelain, earthenware or glass, which borrow colorful shapes inspired by cubism, often anthropomorphic or Russian ballets.

Robj was present at the 1925 World’s Fair. In 1928, appeared the greatest success of the house: liqueur bottles and in 1929, tobacco jars. Elegance, modernity and originality are omnipresent while maintaining a cheerful and inventive spirit, and the mix of themes and subjects also contributes to this success.

Unfortunately, the workshop will not withstand the crisis of 1929.
