Dima Gorban was born in 1961 in the former Soviet Union and grew up in Kishinev (now in Moldavia). From the age of 10, he studied painting at the Kishinev Art School, where he was recognized for his precocious talent.

After graduating in 1980, Gorban’s works began to be shown throughout Moldavia, and also in a permanent exhibition in the drawing department of the Moscow Film Academy. Gorban continued his studies in fine arts at the Lvov Academy of Painting in 1989.

He began his career as a graphic designer and started creating wine paintings by designing labels for the Ackerman winery in Russia. Much of his inspiration comes from his childhood, when his grandfather grew vines and produced wine for the family. It was with his photorealistic paintings that he made a name for himself in the art world.

In parallel, Gorban continued to work as a graphic designer. Although he was successful in the industry, designing labels for a major textile and clothing manufacturer, Gorban soon turned to fine art full-time. His works are collected worldwide and have been shown in exhibitions in Kishinev, Moscow, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv and New York.
