contemporary crystal sculpture by Eric Maquet

Contemporary abstract sculpture made of blown crystal in Val-saint-Lambert. Although unsigned, the artist is Eric Maquet*. It is a unique piece. The dominant color is purple, with oxides giving iridescent golden reflections mainly on the rounded front tip.

It is supported by a translucent glass foot and a metal base.

The metal base measures 30.5 x 19 cm. The sculpture has a total height of 39.5 cm and a total width of 35 cm.

*Eric Luc Maquet (18/10/1955)

Trained as an architect and director of an art college, he is above all an artist and sculptor. He works with a wide range of materials: glass, stone, steel and bronze.

He fell under the spell of the work of the master glassmakers of Val-St-Lambert while organizing official visits to the Universal Exhibition in Seville.

He gave up his work and began a glassblowing apprenticeship in 1995, first in Holland and then in Val-Saint-Lambert with Alfred Collard.

His creations are dreamlike, imaginary. Color plays with light.

“There are artists who explore and want to take us into their dreams”.
