*Antoni Taulé is a Catalan artist, born on August 25, 1945 in Sabadell, in the province of Barcelona. Although he takes photographs – or even performances in his early works – or even theatre sets, painting is the technique most often chosen in his pictorial research where architecture has a beautiful part but of which ‘Ombre’ is the real thread. His work is to be brought closer to the New Figuration without Taulé fully claiming it. He lives and works mainly in Paris and the Balearic Islands.

If, from 1965, he exposes his paintings in Sabadell, Sitges and Barcelona, as an architect, Taulé collaborates simultaneously with the construction of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Light and shadow have become his great creative allies. Through them, Taulé creates scenes that play with the idea of presence and absence, desolate interiors illuminated by a sudden light that transforms the perception of space. This almost cinematic effect transports the viewer into a place between reality and fiction, where borders fade. It is not surprising that his work evokes the aesthetics of science fiction, with its way of representing hypnotic environments and visions that seem extracted from another plane of reality.
