Marcel Delmotte is a Belgian painter, watercolourist, draftsman and sculptor.

His work is essentially realistic until about 1927. Three years later, he exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris. In his artistic practice, he renounces realism and moves towards a form of neo-classicism or neo-humanism, based on the research of compositions and numbers. He was then influenced by early-century expressionism before moving towards the symbolist style

Marcel Delmotte received numerous awards and distinctions throughout his career. He was appointed Knight of the Order of Leopold II in 1939. He receives the silver medal of Belgian painting in 1960. The same year, he obtained the First Prize for painting Richard Dupierreux, then the First Chapman Prize in 1965.
